About Berkeley

The Tilden Regional Park is one of the three oldest parks within the district, and has 2,037 acres filled with a variety of activities designed to amuse for all those visiting the park. The park was named after Charles Lee Tilden, who was the first president on the Park District Board of directors. Known best for its attractions such as: the Botanical Gardens, Lake Anza, the Tilden Golf Course, and much more, the Tilden Regional Park offers a wide range of activities for the whole family to enjoy together. There are no parking fees or dog fees. Other activities such as group camping and fishing are permitted within the park, with reservations and fishing licenses. There are also many terrains and trails available for those interested in hiking or biking.

The California Museum of Paleontology in Berkeley is a museum devoted to revealing the history of life on planet Earth. While displaying a wide range of fossils from creatures dating back millions of years ago, the California Museum of Paleontology in Berkeley focuses its research on unearthing the history of these organisms, by providing exhibits featuring them in the Valley Life Sciences building of Berkeley. The hours for these exhibits are: Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 1p.m. to 10 p.m. These hours are subject to change, but typically follow the same schedule as the Bioscience & Natural Resources Library.
